Privacy Notice
Effective July 26, 2026. Applies to the hosted Focal website and subscription workspace.
Dancel Legal Consulting provides Focal and is responsible for the Focal account and billing records described in this notice.
Documents and generated work
PDFs, rendered page pixels, highlight selections, previews, saved project contents, and exports are processed in the browser on the device being used. Focal does not provide an application endpoint or database for uploading or storing that document content.
Account and access information
Sign in with ChatGPT supplies the signed-in email address to Focal for access control. Focal converts that address into a keyed, one-way account identifier before storing subscription access records. Those records can include plan, status, paid-through date, cancellation state, and Stripe customer, subscription, checkout, and event identifiers. They do not include document names or document activity.
Payments
Stripe provides checkout, subscription billing, and the billing portal. Information entered on Stripe's pages is handled under Stripe's privacy practices. Focal receives the billing status and identifiers needed to grant, renew, pause, or end product access.
Hosting records
The hosting provider receives ordinary requests needed to load and operate the site and may retain request metadata such as IP address, time, user agent, requested URL, and security events. Browser, device, network, extension, download-location, and operating-system records remain outside Focal's direct control.
Data choices and retention
Billing and access records are retained as needed to operate the subscription, resolve disputes, maintain security, and meet legal or accounting duties. Canceling a subscription ends future renewal but does not necessarily require immediate deletion of transaction records. Contact shane.okeefe@dancel.com for an access or deletion request.
